Supervisor Environmental Services
Orients and trains employees in area. Assists in assuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements,laws and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department. Orders supplies and may assist in the evaluation of newequipment for the area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs work of Environmental Services, leads, and staff while completing own assigned cleaning tasks
Takes proactive steps to ensure that all areas are cleaned properly and develops standards, policies, and procedures for EnvironmentalServices.
Develops and maintains job assignments and adjusts as needed.
Manages and monitors, through inspections, the work accomplished, noting efficiency, spot checking work for compliance withdepartmental procedures, and inspecting both quality and quality of work performed.
Interviews, selects, orients and trains staff.
Prepares and administers performance reviews. Reviews and/or counsels employees on performance and/or corrective action reports.
Ensures equipment and supply storerooms are in safe condition and with appropriate levels of supplies.
Prepares and assigns employees schedules, including vacations, holidays and leave of absences.
Participates in hospital and/or departmental meetings.
Directs and participates in in-service education programs for departmental staff. Determines what in-servicing is needed, makesarrangements for training and documents as necessary.
Coordinates activities with customers/other departments to perform project work in areas.
Creates and maintains department floor care procedures which include equipment guidelines, project schedules and more.
Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedures manuals.
Order supplies as needed and maintains employee records
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent.
One to three years housekeeping experience working in education, healthcare and/or hospitality services.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Previous supervisory experience
