Supervisor Environmental Services
Position Summary:
Orients and trains employees in area. Assists in assuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements, laws and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department. Orders supplies and may assist in the evaluation of new equipment for the area. Work toward achieving benchmark performance for housekeeping with respect to HCAHPS scores.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Uses independent judgment to exercise authority on behalf of the Medical Center, or effectively recommend such action in the following areas:
A) Responsible for assigning work to employees and directing the workflow in area of jurisdiction.
B) Attempts to resolve employee complaints/concerns.
C) Conducts periodic performance appraisal interviews with subordinates.
2. Creates and sustains a culture of patient satisfaction throughout the hospital.
3. Orients and trains employees in area.
4. Assists in assuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements, laws and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department.
5. Orders supplies and may assist in the evaluation of new equipment for the area.
6. Facilitates and/or participates in performance improvement activities.
7. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
8. Demonstrates understanding and competence in all areas of Evidenced Based Leadership
Including: leader rounding, thank you notes, stoplight reports, 30/90 day conversations, leadership development institutes, linkage grids, skills validation, AIDET, hourly rounding, and High-Middle-Low conversations.
9. Works designated areas as required
Required:
· High school graduate or equivalent.
· Minimum two (2) year experience in commercial or institutional environmental services.
Preferred:
· Previous supervisory experience.
