Medical Assistant Clinic
Position Summary: Responsible for fulfilling myriad administrative duties in both the front and back of the office, including billing support, scheduling, coding, patient communication and filing.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Answer multi-line phone system; take appointments or direct calls to the appropriate party.
2. Greet patients when they arrive at the office and provide them with any necessary paperwork or other information.
3. Collect co-pays and other fees required prior to the office visit or treatment.
4. Direct patients to the lab area for scheduled blood work and other testing.
5. Verify insurance coverage and assist the billing department with processing claims.
6. Schedule appointments and confirm appointments in advance.
7. Assist patients with re-scheduling appointments and other scheduling issues.
8. Communicate test results to patients when directed by physicians or nursing professionals.
9. Inform patients of credit card declines and other billing issues.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.

High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a medical assistant.OR
-
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse or armed services medic program.

Certified Medical Assistant.

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification. May be required at management discretion.

Electronic medical record experience.

One-year experience working in medical office with multiple providers.

Previous experience working in a medical office of the same specialty.
