Director Patient Safety Clinical Risk
The Director of Clinical Risk & Patient Safety reports to the Chief Medical Officer with a dotted line to the Corporate VP of Patient Safety, Risk & Insurance and provides administrative leadership, direction, and supervision in the integration of the overall Risk and Patient Safety program for the facility. Supervises and evaluates staff. Responsible for development of annual site specific Patient Safety Plan. Coordinates patient safety improvement programs that reduce the risk of injury and promote reporting of incidents. Develop and deliver education programs based on incident reporting data. Administers the Safety First Program for both sites including the performance of investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Develops and deploys consistent methodologies and tools for clinical change and methods to track the successful adoption of a variety of clinical and process standards and participates in measurement of the outcomes of such standards.
- Provides leadership and oversight for all patient safety endeavors at the site including:
- Prevention, Detection and Correction of Patient Safety events
- Staff education in error reduction
- Culture of Safety
- Just Culture
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree Required with Clinical Degree or other related field.
Minimum seven years of healthcare experience preferably in risk and patient safety management.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Clinical Field
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or other Patient Safety training/certification desired (CPPS, IHI Executive Development).
