Position Summary:
The MIG Vice President of Information Technology (IT) and Business Information (BI) is responsible for the strategic direction of the MIG enterprise IT and business information functions. This position directs, evaluates and coordinates all the design, development, release and maintenance of technology systems and services for MIG and its subsidiaries. In addition, this role is responsible for the following systems: core claims processing, member eligibility, provider data, encounters, quality and clinical.
The MIG VP of IT and BI is accountable for all state regulatory reporting, creating and maintaining enterprise-wide central databases/warehouses, statistical files, general data extracts and access paths, and ensuring the quality of information maintained in these data sources. This position will serve as a liaison to McLaren Health Care ensuring the MIG strategic plan aligns with the overall MHC enterprise IT roadmap.
This role will lead MIG and its subsidiaries through process transformation/improvement and strategic planning initiatives to support short and long-range goals of the organization. Represents and acts on behalf of the CEO in proposing actions, approving, advising, acting upon and coordinating efforts regarding IT matters of MIG subsidiaries. Builds, develops and manages teams capable of carrying out needed initiatives. Communicates routinely with the MIG CEO and Market Presidents concerning IT recommendations and suggested course of action.
Michigan or Indiana Residency Preferred.
This position is a hybrid position with requirements to come onsite as scheduled, Flint, MI or Indianapolis, IN.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology or related field.
- Five years’ experience in a senior leadership role with an HMO or managed care organization (experience with budgeting, health plan operations, reinsurance, EDI, claims processing, eligibility, contracting and risk arrangements and actuarial precepts) with demonstrated managerial experience in establishing and overseeing all operational divisions of a Plan, including direct interaction with health care providers and regulators.
- Five (5) years’ experience in healthcare technology involving system design, planning, experience or combined experience in information systems field and managed care plan operations.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
- Ten (10) years’ experience in a senior HMO leadership position.
