The Health Support Clerk reports to the Manager of Nursing performing clerical and receptionist duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Registration, bed assignment, admission, transfer and the discharge of patients.
- Verifies insurance benefits and eligibility.
- Coordinates internal and external telephone communication.
- Processes written physician orders.
- Orders ancillary services via the order communication computer system.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year related experience in a health care setting.
- Two years related experience in a health care setting.
