Systems Specialist
As
part of an informatics team, is involved in all stages of system development,
integration and maintenance of third party computer software systems utilized
by a variety of end users at the Karmanos Cancer Institute through
communication, analysis, gathering requirements, programming, testing,
documentation, implementation and training.
Responsibilities:
- Provides system support for by
maintaining, implementing upgrades, training and problem solving.
- Provides support as related to
printers, scanners, etc. as associated to third party computer software.
- Works with senior members of staff
to support the business and technology needs of end users by providing
data, reports and technical tools within specified deadlines.
- Works in a team environment involved in all stages of system development or integration of third party products through design, build, test and implementation phases.
- Consults
with managerial personnel, business analysts, programmer analysts and
clients to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and
determine extent of programming and coding required to support end users.
- BA/BS in a technical field or healthcare field with at least three years of experience in health care; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 7 and Unix operating systems preferred.
- Familiarity with various programming languages and application development platforms like: Java, Perl, SQL, web, reporting tools, C# .Net Framework, Oracle and Visual Basic preferred.
- Familiarity with structured System Development Life-Cycle and healthcare/life sciences a plus.
- Results-oriented plus excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Able to work independently using initiative and good judgment.
