Security Training Specialist
Position Summary:
Provides security staff training at all McLaren subsidiaries. Also, assists with the enforcement of security/safety related regulations, and protects hospital patients, visitors, staff, and property from hazardous conditions and/or criminal activities, including potential for violence in the workplace.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for developing and designing the security curriculum.
2. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and training the security staff curriculum.
3. Participates in system wide rounding to confirm compliance with training.
4. Responsible to maintain training records on security staff.
5. Recommends additional training or extension to probationary periods on new hires.
6. Monitors compliance with all new hire and annual security training requirements.
7. Maintains all required training records for McLaren sites licensed under Public Act 330 of the State of Michigan.
8. Acts as one the system Administrator for the security reporting writing system.
9. Assists in assuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements, laws, and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department.

Qualifications:
Required:
· High School Diploma
· 8 years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
· Current Firearms Instructor or obtained within one year of hire
· Current Taser Instructor or obtained within one year of hire
· Current CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor or obtained within one year of hire
· Current Defensive Tactics Instructor or obtained within one year of hire
Preferred:
· Associates degree in criminal justice, applied sciences or related field
· 2 years security supervision experience
