Research Integrity Assistant
Position Summary:
This position will function as a liaison between the Research Integrity (RI) team and, research community individuals within other MHC departments, business associates and external agencies. Liaison activities include providing education on regulations and Human Research Protection Program/Institutional Review Board (HRPP/IRB) policies, IRB electronic systems technical support, preparation of application materials and instruction on meeting training requirements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the RI department and staff as needed to ensure efficient operation of the department. This will include answering phones, scheduling appointments and arranging travel, compose and type routine correspondence and/or reports, etc.
- Screens incoming general calls and emails. Responds to a wide variety of questions requiring substantial knowledge of the departmental processes. Resolves issues to limit calls forwarded to other HRPP staff or direct report, and when necessary, triages to appropriate HRPP staff.
- Coordinate pre, during and post IRB meetings and review activities: prepare relevant materials and necessary correspondence in accordance with internal policy and compose regulatory compliant minutes after each IRB meeting.
- Additionally, processes post-meeting actions, such as issuing letters, follow-up emails, and drafting meeting minutes and routing, as directed.
- Tracks all studies with external IRB’s including maintaining current status and retrieval of approval letters, as required or directed.
- Tracks training of IRB members, HRPP staff, researchers and research staff
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma (Must be actively seeking academic degree)
- One year experience providing office/logistical support in a professional office environment.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline or a related field
- Two years of experience in research in HRPP or IRB office, clinical research or other human subject protection-related experience
