Registered Nurse - Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Casual

Position Summary: Coordinates total nursing care for sexual assault patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintained standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The Registered Nurse recognizes that each patient is a unique individual and has the right to quality nursing care that ensures mutual goal setting between the Registered Nurse and the patient and that the Registered Nurse assures patient rights and privacy are protected. Assessment: Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation.
- Conducts population appropriate assessments & collects & records data pertinent to findings involving patient, family and other healthcare providers for each patient’s population specific needs.
- Assesses patient/family educational needs, readiness to learn and barriers, and patient/family discharge needs utilizing and referring appropriate resources.
- Documents relevant data in a thorough and timely manner.
Required:
- Education - Graduate of an approved registered nursing program.
- Must have a current Michigan Registered Nurse license.
- BLS Certification required.
- Must have had six months ER experience within the last two years and/or meet internal posting criteria.
- Completion of SANE didactic.
