Registered Nurse Rapid Response Certification - Nursing Admin

Position Summary:
Registered nurse who functions as the hospital wide SWAT Nurse who responds to patient care units to handle urgent or emergency patient care needs. Provides emergency response as needed based on specific unit needs, patient activity and crisis situations of an intermittent nature.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responds to medical emergency problems including Code Blue’s, Rapid Responses, and Code MTP’s. Supports floor staff with concerns regarding patient decline/clinical assessment.
The RN will demonstrate the ability to quickly assess a patient when there has been a change in status and help to monitor and provide intervention for the patient.
- Accompanies Critical Care patients when they must be transported within the hospital (ex. MRI, diagnostic tests, IR, ER to ICU)
- Assist floor staff with difficulty IV starts and utilize ultrasound guided IV placement as needed.
- The RN is responsible for participating in the quality outcomes specific to the units or hospital and adheres to all regulatory requirements. The RN maintains a collaborative relationship with multiple disciplines within the organization.
Active participant in Code Blue Committee including performing audits and action plans required for this committee.
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holding a current license to practice in the state of Michigan.
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Five (5) years’ experience in critical care/ER setting
Preferred:
- CCRN certification
- TNCC certification
- Ultrasound Guided IV insertion experience
