Registered Nurse - Infection Control - Wound Nurse
Department: Marwood Nursing & Rehabilitation
Daily Work Times: 8:00 AM– 4:30PM
Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 80
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to Long Term Care policy, the facility mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities to foster patient/family centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and delegates responsibilities for direct care staff per resident’s needs. Responsible for ensuring direct care staff completes daily tasks as assigned when covering for IP, ADON or Building Supervisor.
- Is responsible for charting in residents’ medical chart according to facility policy and procedure and nursing standards of practice. Completing all IP admission assessments/reviews. Completing section O in the MDS.
- Is a support to the Nursing Administration team when needed regarding facility outbreaks. Meeting the needs of resident care and facility reporting requirements.
- Completes assessment and management of wounds throughout facility. Rounds with Wound Doctor weekly and work closely with the wound team related to a fluctuating volume.
- Is responsible for collaboration with IDT to identify high risk residents and mitigation interventions.
- Immunization Coordination for residents and staff. Including review of MCIR records.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associates degree from an accredited university
- Valid RN licensure from the State of Michigan
- CPR Certification
- BLS Certification
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 35 pounds
- Nursing Home Infection Preventionist CDC Certification
Preferred:
- Previous geriatric and Infection Prevention experience
