Registered Nurse - Coordinator Patient Care - Radiation
Position Summary: Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Hospital. Develops and implements oncology nursing standards of practice, policies, protocols and staff/patient education programs. Ensures that quality oncology nursing standards are implemented and adhered to in Radiation Oncology.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. 1. Ensures that quality oncology nursing standards are implement and adhered to in Radiation Oncology.
- Participates in data collection for department QA program.
- Coordinates patient care for patients undergoing radiation therapy and those who have completed treatment.
- Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence.
- Participates in a minimum of 50% of department meetings; reads and initials minutes from meetings not attended, as evidenced by attendance log.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or ten (10) years of prior clinical nursing experience.
- Three (3) years prior experience in nursing.
- Maintains a registered nursing license in the State of Michigan.
- Oncology Certified Nursing (OCN) obtained within eighteen (18) months.
- BLS card from AHA required before start date (valid at least 60 days beyond start date).
- One (1) year prior work experience in Radiation Oncology preferred.
