Pharmacy Informatics Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Develops, designs, implements, maintains and evaluates pharmacy information technology and automation functionality to maintain compliance and with accepted standards of pharmacy practice.
- Coordinates with information systems to resolve issues and/or re-design processes when warranted. Participates in meetings with department, hospital, and corporate committees and groups related to pharmacy information system issues.
- Maintains computer databases that support appropriate record keeping and patient charge functionality. Assists in audits related to medication therapy and pharmacy patient charges.
- Coordinates orientation and training of hospital staff on pharmacy computer and automation systems.
- Collaborates with department director to develop short and long range plans and priorities and assists in budgeting for information systems projects.
Required:
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Registered pharmacist in the State of Michigan or eligible for State licensure.
- Knowledge and experience with pharmacy computer systems and automated medication dispensing systems.
Preferred:
- Doctor of Pharmacy or other advanced degree highly preferred.
- Three – five years of pharmacy experience [hospital setting strongly preferred].
