Position Summary: Responsible for providing efficient, cost-effective, and consistent purchase management of pharmaceuticals and other supplies and materials. Provides inventory control while maintaining the availability of drugs needed for patient care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Check medication, IV fluids, and supply stock daily, and orders accordingly based on buying and delivery schedules.
  2. Places orders for main pharmacy, pharmacy satellite areas and ancillary departments.
  3. Maintains and monitors wholesaler electronic ordering system to create and place orders daily.
  4. Use split billing software daily to comply with 340b program requirements and ensure medications are ordered on appropriate accounts.
  5. Actively participates in inventory management and assigns par levels in collaboration with pharmacy managers. 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Two years of pharmacy experience.

 

Preferred: 

  • Current state pharmacy technician license as required to practice in the state or associate degree in business related field.
  • One year of experience in purchasing related activities.
  • Prior experience with formulary price database maintenance.
