Pharmacy Automated System Technician
Qualifications:
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent with science and mathematics emphasis.
· Experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital
· Experience with automated medication dispensing systems for a minimum of three (3) years.
· Pharmacy Technician Certification
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a Omnicell® or Pyxis® system administrator
- Associate Degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Demonstrates proficiency in the use of the automated medication dispensing systems, its reporting functions, and trouble-shooting system failures.
· Demonstrates ability to train staff on automated medication dispensing system and maintain documentation of training.
· Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
· Complies with departmental and program policies, procedures, and standards.
· Accurately and efficiently performs relevant pharmaceutical calculations.
· Correctly dispenses, labels, and packages medications for the age group(s) served.
· Ensures a pharmacist verifies all medications.
· Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
· Completes and maintains accurate, timely documentation related to the work.
· Demonstrates proficiency with personal computer and departmental software applications.
