Department: Partial Hospitalization

Shift: Days

Daily Work Times: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Scheduled Hours per Pay: 80

Pay Range: $14.98 - $18.57 (based on years' experience)

 

 

Position Summary:

Processes all third party medical center bills and billing inquiries from payors or patient guarantor.  Schedules appointments, posts charges and handles the updating and access control of patient medical records.  Provides secretarial support typing letters, reports, staff meeting notes and performs related office duties.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 

1.  Prepares third party billing for medical center and professional components; coordinates with Patient Accounts to provide authorization and number of days approved.

2.  Coordinates with Patient Accounts and insurance company on current and aging accounts to verify insurance coverage and number of days approved and utilized.  Posts charges and records visits for statistics.

3.  Assists staff in obtaining prior authorization from third party payors when needed.

4.  Schedules clinical assessments, new admission appointments and establishes new patient accounts.  Maintains and disassembles patient medical records.  Functions as a member of the Referral Development Committee for the partial hospitalization program. 

5.  Provides secretarial support duties including typing letters, memos, policy and procedures, meeting minutes, van list, marketing reports and other assigned tasks using PC software.  Maintains PC statistical program.


Required:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.  Related courses preferred.
  • Possess 6-9 months clerical experience with medical terminology preferred

Preferred: 

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
