Obstetric Technician I
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Three (3) months of job-related experience and/or training.
- BLS certification, Canadian equivalent
Preferred:
- Associate degree in surgical technology.
- One (1) year of experience in a medical setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, anatomy, surgical techniques and equipment, coding procedures for OB technician practice scope.
- Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and the principles of sterile techniques.
- Ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to work in stressful situations.
Position/Subsidiary Specific:

- Attends at least fifty percent (50%) of the unit meetings; reads and initials minutes of meetings not attended; reads memos, procedures, communication book.
