MRI Technologist
Under general supervision of the area Lead Technologist, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance examinations on patients as prescribed by physicians to provide quality procedures regarding patient condition for diagnostic purpose. This position is responsible for assisting with daily operations, administration of contrast agents for diagnostic procedures, and is responsible for the safety of any person entering the magnetic field under their care.
Responsibilities:
- Performs Magnetic Resonance images according to Radiologist instructions, as is evidenced by high quality diagnostic images.
- Administers appropriate Gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously, according to patient's age, weight, and type of procedure being performed.
- Keeps accurate QA /QC records, including MRI scanner warm-up.
- Monitors the presence of non-MRI safe objects or equipment in the restricted MRI area to ensure a safe MRI magnetic field environment for patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
- Screens all persons entering the restricted MRI area in accordance with ACR guidelines.
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current certification and/or registration by the ARRT, C.P.R. certification.
- One (1) year experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.
Current MRI registry preferred or must become registered through ARRT in MRI within one year of date of hire.
