Manager, CTO Operations
Responsible for providing over-sight and quality control of the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Under the direction of the Director, Regulatory and Clinical Research Operations, the individual is responsible for management oversight of CTO administration and operations personnel. This includes new staff recruitment, hiring, discipline and the ongoing daily management of staff.
Essential Job and Department Specific Functions:
1. Provides oversight in the coordination of CTO Administration team and Operations team assignments. Directly supervises CTO Office Manager and Operations personnel. Approves/rejects projects as indicated.
2. Analyze research data and prepare statistical reports related to the clinical trials office performance.
3. Assists CTO Leadership with external and internal vendor relationship management. Leads vendor meetings to foster communication and workflow discussions.
4. Provides administrative oversight of CTO operational goals, projects, and systems. Utilizes project management systems and tools to monitor and communicate about project status and changes.
5. Promotes creativity and outside the box thinking, fostering best practices to enhance overall operations of the CTO.
6. Understand and be current with CTO operations and systems including OnCore, YUNU, CTRP, and eREG.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills required.
2. Prior management experience monitoring day-to in hiring, training, discipline in over-sight of patient and regulatory data Research Assistants preferred.
3. Knowledgeable in internal/external regulations, Good Clinical Practice in the conduct of clinical trials, research budgets, federal grant requirements, etc.
