Maintenance Mechanic
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager repairs, installs, adjusts, monitors, and maintains building HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical systems and performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks of the hospital building systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of hospital related building systems maintenance experience or five years of general building system maintenance experience.
- Must possess valid State of Michigan Operator’s license
- Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles
Preferred:
- 4th class power engineering certification from NIULPE (National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc.) or has Third Class Stationary Engineer, licensed/registered by the State of Michigan
- Certification as a Health Care Mechanic or Health Care Engineer, as accredited by MECH or the Healthcare Facilities Alliance or similar agency.
- Previous experience in HVAC/R systems maintenance in a health care setting.
- Previous experience working alone, without assistance.
