Licensed Social Worker
Qualifications:
Required:
- Masters degree in Social Work from accredited educational institution
- State of Michigan licensure as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW)
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, deal with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be able to give written and oral instructions in good English, have knowledge of the work to be performed, and possess the ability to communicate the needs of the facility to others.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and direct professional and non-professional personnel. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever behavioral level they are currently functioning.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and ability to change work principles to adhere to changing federal, state, and other applicable regulations.
- Must demonstrate solid knowledge of behavioral health principles, psychoactive medications, and issues related to the elderly, chronic illness, death/dying, and dementia.
- Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions without harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred:
- Prior experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as a Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association
