Laboratory Billing Specialist
Required:
• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of billing or patient registration experience
• Experience in a health care setting
• Laboratory experience
Preferred:
• Billing and Coding Certificate
• CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 experience
• Proficient in Microsoft office
Position/Subsidiary Specific:
• Laboratory billing requirements – Understand bundled charges/CPTs
• Discern/work item resolution – Able Resolve lab billing errors for Cerner
• Charge entry – pulling charge interface report for charging error.
• Customer service – communicating with each subsidiary clinic and laboratory
• Technical Denials – retrieving medical necessary diagnosis code from provider.
• Alpha Collector – resolving lab billing errors for Paragon
• Miscellaneous charge entry – manually entering CPT and charges from the reference lab fee schedule
