Emergency Department Technician
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Specialized education requirements include both:
- Acute care nursing assistant course preferred for acute care positions or long term care nursing assistant course or completion of a clinical rotation while participating in an accredited nursing program or completion of medical training in a branch or the armed services
- Completion of course with externship in phlebotomy or completion of an emergency medical technician program or completion of medical assistant program.
- Recent patient care experience in acute care setting as nursing or medical assistant, EMT, or completion of a clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program.
- BLS certification
- Emergency Department experience.
- Experience in specimen collection (i.e. phlebotomy), specimen processing and distribution.
