Position Summary:

Provides in depth knowledge of EMR software connectivity to laboratory information systems. Assists in evaluating clinical operations and workflow addressing needs of individual offices and other health care facilities.  Hosts online software demonstrations, demonstrates functionality of EMR software to potential clients.   Assists in resolving critical problems related to implementation.  Implements and coordinates all vendor activities for timely and efficient production schedule.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1.    Coordinates and assists in implementing and maintaining Electronic Medical Records systems/computer-based databases utilizing software for the delivery of laboratory outreach services.
2.    Ensure effective interfacing between departmental and medical center information systems; doctor’s offices or other health care facilities.
3.    Assists in planning, developing, and maintaining interfaced systems for automated ordering and result return of patient data.  
4.    Coordinates and monitors outreach ordering and result return for accuracy and timeliness.
5.    Assists in data collection, systems analysis, and design of reports for physicians, external outreach clients and accrediting agencies.
6.    Coordinates testing, writing procedures, training and in servicing of users on software updates and implementation.  Educates and maintains ongoing communication with personnel regarding project progress, problems and revision needs.

Required:
•    High school diploma or equivalent.
•    Five years of technical or professional experience in a hospital based clinical laboratory with demonstrated experience in EMR connectivity for the delivery of laboratory outreach services.
•    Three years’ experience in working knowledge of computers and computer interfacing in health care environment.  
•    Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
