Dietitian
Position Summary:
Accesses and monitor nutrition needs of patients on enteral and parenteral nutrition with the company. Recommends therapy when consulted on new patients. Helps trouble shoot patients with nutritional issues.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assesses patients’ nutritional needs, including their expected nutritional outcomes.
- Develops treatment plans for enteral patients.
- Counsels patients and their families on nutrition issues related to enteral and parenteral therapy.
- Evaluates the effects of nutrition plans and changes the plans as needed.
- Documents assessment findings, services provided and patients’ progress.
- Creates and modifies educational materials on nutritional therapies.
- Provides quality, personalized and evidence-based care and proven interventions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, or a related area.
- Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential which is administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior parenteral nutrition experience preferred.
