Coordinator Cardiac Device Specialist Registered Nurse
Department: Heart Rhythm Adm
Shift: Days
Daily Work Times: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Scheduled Hours per Pay: 80
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for responding to pre and post-op phone calls from patients regarding concerns/questions.
2. Sends out referral letters to referring doctors through Cerner.
3. Mails out device check letters to referring doctors.
4. Assists with scheduling procedures and arranging pre-op testing; follows up on lab values.
5. Manages Coumadin clinic, reviewing INR results and adjusting warfarin dosing per protocol.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Current State of Michigan RN License
Minimum of five years recent work experience working with cardiac device management in a hospital or physician’s office
Minimum of 1 1/2 years of specialized training in cardiac device management and interrogation techniques
BLS card from AHA required before start date (valid at least 60 days beyond start date)
Preferred:
- Ten years of experience in cardiac device management/pacemaker clinic highly desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Current implantable cardiac device management and interrogation skills for all current models-required
Ability to read and interpret 12 lead ECG’s and key cardiac arrhythmia’s-required
Strong analytical and troubleshoot skills-required
Solid interpersonal and communication skills-required
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups-required
