Coord Emergency Preparedness
Position Summary:
Develops and coordinates programs within the hospital environment and with emergency medical service providers in order to improve the medical center’s competitive position. Responsible for hospital emergency preparedness, training, drill planning, and implementation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and creates networks within the EMS industry to help strengthen relationships and form strategic business plans.
2. Educates the hospital care provider community, keeping them informed of the changes in the standards of care related requirements;
3. Markets the medical center’s full range of services to the emergency provider community.
4. Serves on or chairs medical center, department oriented or community- based task force and committees.
5. Consults and communicates with medical center leadership and other external agencies to determine ways and means to increase the development and utilization of emergency medical services within the service area.
6. Participates in quality assessments and continuous quality improvement opportunities, goal setting, collection, and evaluation of data. Implements action plans or related applications.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Graduate of an accredited paramedic program.
• Three years of prior work experience in health care/patient care services.
• BLS
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree
