Cardiography Technician
Position Summary: Performs technical work in the delivery of electrocardiographic testing services which include electrocardiograms, stress tests, and Holter monitors.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. 1. Applies and removes the test equipment monitors. Answers questions from patients and family members and educates them on the use of the equipment.
- Performs EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitors, event monitors and ambulatory blood pressure monitors on patient.
- Performs analysis on tests conducted. Recognizes and reports any potentially hazardous arrhythmias to the appropriate physicians.
- Processes and edits EKGs and related reports as needed. Records and files information related to all tests performed.
- Cleans, adjusts and performs routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year experience as an ECG technician with training in arrhythmia recognition or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- BLS certification.
- Fundamental knowledge of theory, principles, practices, techniques and equipment used in all aspects of electrocardiographic testing.
- CCT certification (Certified Cardiographic Technician).
Graduate of cardiovascular technology course.
