Anesthesia Performance Technician Certified
Responsible for a variety of clinical and non-clinical procedures related primarily to Cardiac Services following hospital and departmental policies and procedures, guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Performs set-up of perfusion equipment and supplies and assists the perfusionist during cardiovascular surgeries. Major responsibilities include the following:- Cardiopulmonary Bypass and Support Procedures
- Autotransfusion
- Physiological Monitoring/Analysis
- Stat Laboratory
- Emergency Preparedness
- Performs set-up of anesthesia equipment and supplies and assists anesthesia and nursing staff.
Completes records, procedure/charge sheets, stat lab results and other documentation related to perfusion and anesthesia.
Participates in the cleaning and maintenance of perfusion and anesthesia equipment.
Maintains appropriate stocking levels of supplies and participates in the evaluation of new equipment and products.
Seeks to improve quality of service by continuously developing individual and unit competencies within scope of practice.
Performs other related responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- American Society of Anesthesia Technologists/ Technicians (ASATT) certification or licensed Paramedic.
- BLS certification or equivalent through Military Training Network (MTN).
Preferred:
- Experience in high acuity care.
- College level anatomy and physiology class.
- Associate Degree with a major in an allied medical field.
